Congratulations to Alliance Collins from Huntington Park, CA, for receiving the JSA National Civic Impact Award. This award recognizes outstanding chapters that have significantly increased civic awareness and engagement at their school. Alliance Collins is one of seven JSA Chapter of the Year recipients who were eligible for the National Civic Impact Award.
Alliance Collins students developed a district-wide Scholar Bill of Rights, campaigned for numerous state and local initiatives, engaged in community service, expanded their chapter, and demonstrated exceptional leadership. As advocates for change, Alliance Collins exemplified the mission of JSA and inspired many students in their school to get involved in the issues that matter the most to them.
As the winner of this award, Alliance Collins will receive:
- An engraved plaque honoring their chapter
- A $500 stipend for their teacher advisor
- A $2,000 grant to continue civic projects
