How to Join or Create a School-Year Experience
1. Announce Your Event or Convention
Make sure members know the deadlines for registering, and dates and times for the event. Keep tabs on all your members who can attend or not.
2. Create JSAConnect Accounts
All students attending the convention are required to create a JSAConnect account. Students should use correct information and their primary email account to register. Once you sign up, you will be sent an email with a link to confirm your email. Please check your inbox and spam folder for the confirmation email.
Locked out of your account? If you already had a MyJSA account, use those credentials to login to JSAConnect. If the “Forgot Password” button is sending you through a loop, email tech@jsa.org and we will manually send a password reset link to you.
Can’t find your high school? Type “Not Listed” into the search box and choose your state of residence. For example, if you live in Illinois, you will choose “Not Listed — IL.”
3. Register on JSAConnect
To attend Hybrid events: a chapter must register together and pay together. Only your Chapter President or Teacher Advisor can register your chapter for a hybrid event on JSAConnect. Start by going to “My Programs,” scroll through all activities and click “Register” on the correct event. Then click “Hybrid” as your event preference. Make sure all chapter members have created a JSAconnect account so you can register them.
To attend Virtual Only events: your Chapter President or Teacher advisor must decide if they want to register as a chapter, similar to hybrid events, or let individual chapter members register themselves. Start by going to “My Programs,” scroll through all activities and click “Register” on the correct event. Then click “Virtual” as your event preference. It will ask if you want to register as a group or as individuals. All chapter members must have a JSAConnect account to be registered or to register themselves.
4. Determine Eligibility for Scholarships
Scholarships are available if certain criteria are met. Students will be asked questions during the account creation and again during the registration process to determine if they are eligible. The discount will be applied at the end of the registration process. If you are registering a chapter, each student must create an account on JSAConnect and fill out their financial information (accessible in the “My Profile” section). A scholarship discount will automatically be applied to all those who qualify.
If you are facing extenuating circumstances beyond federal aid, you may fill out an application. Make sure your chapter leader has not paid yet in order to submit a scholarship application. Once you are registered by your chapter leaders or yourself, you can go to “My Profile,” then “My Responses.” Then you can click your event and type in your application. Only once your application has been processed can your chapter leader pay for the group registration.
Can’t see any event under “My Responses?” Refresh the page and try again.
5. Collect & Submit Payment
Program fees must be paid in full before the program begins, or students will not be permitted to attend. Once your application is approved, the easiest and most secure way is to pay online with a credit card via JSAConnect. If necessary, you can also mail a check to JSA headquarters (find our address at the bottom of this page) or call (800) 334‑5353 to inquire about paying over the phone.
Can’t see the invoice or payment portal? If you have an ad-blocker, make sure it is disabled for jsa.org and the JSAConnect website.
6. Collect Documents
Each student attending a convention must fill out the required documents. Once you’ve registered and paid, notify each student to submit their documents. Go to the profile icon in the upper right-hand corner, click “My Profile,” and navigate to “My Docs.” Here, you will see documents for both the event and the chapter, which you can download, fill out, and submit. Both event and chapter documents are required in order to attend the convention.
Code of Conduct
Students are held to the highest standard of behavior.
Students must always conduct themselves according to the highest standards of behavior. Students must be considerate of, and respect the rights of, other students and staff, and use appropriate and respectful language at all times. Hazing or any action that creates physical discomfort or intends to embarrass or harass another student will not be tolerated. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in expulsion from the event.
