About the Program
Come be a part of the future of JSA! The inaugural JSA National Convention promises to be an immersive and enriching experience unlike any you've attended. Participants will spend five days on the campus of Georgetown University from July 15 - 20, 2024.
Participants will:
- Engage in policy, communications, and political crisis simulations
- Participate in debates, thought talks, and activism activities
- Learn about community organizing
- Hone their leadership skills through specialized workshops -- JSA student leadership and the Young Women's Leadership Institute
- Dive deeper into the intersection of journalism and politics through The Gene A. Burd Institute on Media & Politics workshop
- Hear from special guest speakers
- Partake in fun-off-campus experiences, including a night-time tour of the monuments and a talent show
The JSA National Convention will provide panels designed to support your future, such as The College Admissions Process, Careers in Politics, and Jobs of the Future.
Who Should Attend?
The convention is designed for current JSA student delegates and non-members in grades 9th-12th grade.
Application deadline is May 15.
