Fall State is the first JSA experience of the school year. Chapters across your JSA state come together to collaborate, debate, engage in civic activities, socialize, and fundraise. You’ll meet students from across the political spectrum, with diverse life experiences and opinions outside of your own. By meeting with peers outside your local area, you’ll come to understand different perspectives—learning how to collaborate with open-mindedness, debate with respect and fairness, and arrive at practical solutions together.

Fall State is guided by a theme selected by our national student Council of Governors. 2021’s theme, Redefining Democracy, was chosen to reflect the perspectives, ideas, and issues that are paramount and relevant to young people in the nation.

Who Should Attend?

All JSA members are encouraged to attend the Fall State event near them. In addition, any high school student interested in becoming more civically engaged can attend any of our virtual experiences. A Teacher Advisor (or school-approved adult chaperone) must accompany a JSA Chapter to the in-person portion of hybrid events.

*Scholarships are available for participants in need.

Key Takeaways
  • Meet members from your JSA state
