Yadira P. is a member of the Junior State of America’s (JSA) Council of Governors. She represents the JSA Midwest's region and is a senior at Morton West High School. As the JSA Midwest’s Governor, Yadira is responsible for leading her state,

Yadira has been an active JSA member of her high school chapter since freshman year. She joined JSA because she wanted to get out of her comfort zone and get involved in her high school and community. During her time at JSA, Yadira has held several roles serving as a chapter president, debate agent, deputy director of debate, and as chief of staff. She has been recognized with several state best speaker awards and led her chapter to win chapter of the year twice in a row.

Outside of JSA, Yadira is actively involved in National Honor Society, Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, Peer mediation, and works for her mayor's office as the communication and outreach coordinator. She is passionate about making a difference in youth civic engagement because she believes that it is the youth’s responsibility to create change and fight for action. Yadira looks forward to attending college and earning a degree in Political Science.
