Uday Sharad Joshi joined JSA in February 2023 as State Director for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast state regions. In this role, Uday supports student leaders and teacher advisors in planning and implementing JSA's annual conventions and educational programming.

Previously, Uday has held positions with the Old Town School of Folk Music, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the Alameda County Office of Education, and the Oakland School for the Arts. Additionally, he co-chaired the Education Committee for Project Enrich, a nonprofit arts collaborative dedicated to equity and inclusion for Chicago's BIPOC youth communities. Uday is a TNTP Baltimore City Teaching Fellow, Kennedy Center Arts Management Institute Fellow, and an Americans for the Arts Emerging Leaders Scholar. He holds a Master's in Education from Harvard University and a Bachelor's in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University. Uday is passionate about empowering new generations for social change and impact. He is also an artist and performer.
