Michael Linick is a retired Army Colonel with extensive experience in the areas of understanding and managing change in force structure, in force development and equipping processes, in understanding the Army as an institution, and in linking strategy to force requirements and capabilities.

Key positions included managing the Army’s Total Army Analysis process, managing the Army’s force structure and requirements demands as the Chief of Force Management in both OEF and OIF, and writing the Army’s first equipping strategy.

Currently Senior Defense Policy Analyst at RAND Corporation, he continues his emphasis on understanding the linkages between strategy, resources and organizational design.

A former Director of Debate in the SoCal Junior State, Linick graduated from El Camino Real High School in 1979.
