Rasaan Turner

Rasaan joined JSA in April 2022 as a Program Manager. In this role, he is currently responsible for providing support to JSA chapters in the Midwest, Ohio River Valley, and Northeast states. Born to and raised by a family of educators in Detroit, Michigan, Rasaan began his career serving in administrative, support, and teaching roles. Within primary and secondary schools, Rasaan promoted the implementation of extracurricular learning, restorative practices, and interdisciplinary studies within the day-to-day routines of the students that he worked with.

In 2017 Rasaan graduated from Tougaloo College with dual undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Liberal Studies (with an emphasis in African-American Studies). In his spare time, he enjoys playing strategy games, listening to music, and learning about new life hacks both on and offline!
