Ian R.

National Co-Director of Fundraising

Ian R. is a member of the Junior State of America’s (JSA) National Cabinet. He represents the JSA Texas (TX) region and is a senior at BASIS San Antonio Shavano Campus. As a National Director of Fundraising, Ian is responsible for outreach to old and new sponsors and the resource allocation to the state and chapter level.

Ian has been an active JSA member of his high school chapter since 2021. He joined JSA because he sought to create change within his community through partaking in volunteer projects and active debate. During his time at JSA, Ian has held several roles serving as chapter co-president of BASIS Shavano chapter, JSA Texas fundraising agent, JSA Texas director of fundraising, and Alamo Capital region mayor. He has been recognized with multiple-Best Speaker awards, co-head of the Best Texas Chapter, and time in City Office through his mayoral internship.

Outside of JSA, Ian is actively involved in Sociedad Hispánica Honoraria, film club, philosophy club, San Antonio Growth on the Eastside (S.A.G.E), and being a teacher’s assistant for multiple AP courses. He is passionate about making a difference in the treatment of the latino community because of the exposure to the homeless epidemic that is rampant in the United States due to a lack of education and allocation of resources. Ian looks forward to attending college and earning a degree in political science and history.
