Arizona Territory Governor Caleb Rhodes attended the Arizona State of the State Address as the guest of a member of the legislature. JSAZ Governor Rhodes sat on the floor of the House of Representatives while Arizona’s Governor Janet Brewer (pictured at right) delivered her address to the joint session of the Arizona Legislature. Later in the afternoon Rhodes attended Governor Brewer’s executive reception.

“Being on the floor when Governor Brewer delivered her address was incredible,” said Rhodes. He went on to say that “the atmosphere of being with so many elected officials and respected members of the community was truly unique.”

The JSAZ governor was formally introduced to the House of Representatives. Representative Terri Proud made the introduction and spoke highly about the Junior State of America before the entire House. Later on at Governor Brewer’s Reception, several members of the Arizona Legislature asked Caleb about the Junior State. “It was a great opportunity to promote JSA. I had the chance to discuss with State Legislators and members of the press about JSA.”

In addition to meeting Governor Brewer, Rhodes also met and spoke with a number of elected officials such as: Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett, Arizona House Speaker Andy Tobin, United States Congressman Trent Franks, Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne and State Representative J.D. Mesnard.
