JSA Summer School Professor a Mentor to a Big City Mayor

Paul Dawson, a Professor of Politics at Oberlin College and a long-time JSA Stanford Summer School professor, has served as a mentor to generations of student leaders throughout his career.  Now he is reaching out to one of his high-profile political protégés to inspire the next generation of leaders.

Former D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty, a 1992 Oberlin graduate who is considered to be one of the leaders of the nation’s urban education reform movement, will co-teach a Politics course with Professor Dawson at Oberlin during the Spring and Fall semesters.  Fenty, a 1992 Oberlin graduate, was a student of Professor Dawson in the early 1990’s.  Professor Dawson, who has taught at JSA’s Stanford Summer School for almost 20 years, is also a member of its Board of Trustees.
