The JSA Alumni Association Steering Committee represents alumni within the broader JSA community and helps direct alumni events and initiatives. The Committee’s mission is to engage alumni in current JSA programs and leverage the large alumni community to further JSA’s strategic objectives.
The Committee’s members are:
Amy Demske — Amy was the founding Mayor of the Mid Atlantic Region during the mid 1980′s, coordinated several one-day JSA conferences at Princeton University, and was the first Chapter President at Watchung Hills Regional H.S. in New Jersey, where she graduated in 1986. She attended JSA summer school at both American University and Stanford University. Amy graduated from George Washington University in 1990. She is a senior health care lobbyist at Arent Fox, and resides in Potomac, Maryland.
Amy Messigian — Amy was Southern State Speaker (1996-97), on the Angeles Region Cabinet (1995-96), and Chapter President (1995-96). She attended summer school at Georgetown University and the Montezuma Leadership Conference. Amy graduated from James Monroe High School (1997), University of California, Los Angeles (2001), and Georgetown University Law Center (2006). Amy is an attorney with Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell where she practices employment and entertainment law. She resides in Los Angeles, CA.
Daniel Ingram — Daniel was New Jersey Region Mayor, Mid-Atlantic State Governor, and served on the JSF Board of Trustees. He graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey (2006) and Johns Hopkins University (2010). Daniel is a consultant with Deloitte Consulting. He resides in the District of Columbia.
Eliot Rushovich — Eliot was Director of Debate for the Southern State from 1997-1998 and Chapter President at University High School in Irvine, CA from 1996-1997. After graduating from University High School in 1999, he attended Harvard University (2003) and Harvard Law School (2007). Eliot is an attorney in the Entertainment, Sports and Media group at O’Melveny & Myers LLP. He currently resides in Santa Monica, CA.
Jordana Lewis Jaffe — Jordana was Southern State Governor from 1997-1998. She graduated from Foothill High School in Tustin, CA (1998), Harvard University (2002), and UCLA School of Law (2007). Jordana is a TV writer for NCIS: LA. She resides in Los Angeles, CA.
Paul Hrabal — Paul was a Chapter President, on the Angeles Region Cabinet and attended the UC Davis Summer School (1983). He graduated from Temple City High School (1984), Occidental College (1988) and the University of Chicago Graduated School of Business (1997). He is a retired technology entrepreneur and resides in Reno, NV.
Rachel Kaganoff Stern — Rachel attended JSA Summer School at UC Davis in 1980, and attended the first JSA Washington D.C. summer program in 1981. She served on the California JSA State Cabinet in 1981 and 1982. She graduated from Dos Pueblos High School (1982), Princeton University (1986) and Duke University (M.A. in Public Policy, 1990). After a long career in research at the RAND Corporation she now volunteers her time for a number of non-profit organizations, including Planned Parenthood Los Angeles. She sits on the board of the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project, The Junior Statesmen Foundation, the Los Angeles-based Women’s Political Committee, and the Women in Leadership Initiative at Princeton University. She is the author of the family food blog, “Inside the Kaganoff Kitchen” (www.insidethekaganoffkitchen.com).
Ron Maroko — Ron graduated from Taft High School (1978) and the University of California, Los Angeles (1982). Ron is a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. He resides in Los Angeles, CA.
Sarah Rivin — Sarah was a Chapter President and Northern California Convention Coordinator (2005-2006). She attended JSA Summer School at Georgetown in 2005. Sarah graduated from The College Preparatory School (2006) and McGill University (2010). Sarah is now Communications Director of the Delaware Democratic Party and resides in Wilmington, Delaware.
Winstina S. Hughes — Winstina was a Chapter President and a Regional Justice for the Mid Atlantic Region. She attended two JSA summer schools, Princeton and Georgetown. Winstina graduated from Columbia High School (2000) and Rutgers University (2007). She is currently pursuing a Masters in City and Regional Planning at Rutgers. Winstina is a journalist, freelance writer, and web designer. She resides in Maplewood, NJ.
