Jeff Harris has been involved in The Junior Statesmen program for more than 20 years – as a high school student leader, program director, civic educator and mentor to students. He was named chief executive in 2010. Career highlights include creating the Junior State’s popular student-run Congressional simulation format and spearheading the Junior Statesmen Foundation’s urban outreach programs. Jeff has directed 14 sessions of The Junior Statesmen Summer School – month long academic programs for high school students held on the campuses of Georgetown, Stanford, Yale and other prestigious universities.
For more than a decade, Jeff worked directly with students in Southern California to create high quality political awareness and involvement programs. Jeff ran the highly successful Symposium on Los Angeles Politics and Government and has also run programs on California and Texas state politics and government as well as overseeing a prestigious speakers program in Washington, D.C. He was JSA’s executive director from 2008-2010.
Jeff attended University High School in Los Angeles and majored in Political Science at U.C. Berkeley where he served as founder and president of a political club and as a Senator in the student government.
