Working with customers in Southeast Asia, Bob Rapp works for Microsoft Corp. and is based in Bangkok, Thailand, building private and public cloud-based systems.
Previously, Rapp was in London as head of user communities at Vodafone Group, where he helped provide strategic insight into new media and social networking. He joined Vodafone from Microsoft where he spent a decade working in the telecommunications business in more than 90 countries. Before his time at Microsoft, he was a consultant, educator and fundraiser in the nonprofit and political sectors.
Bob has been a supporter of JSA since 1980, when he attended the first Washington, D.C., Summer School, which was held at The Catholic University — and had a chance to meet with most every cabinet member in the Reagan Admistration.
Excited about JSA, he founded a chapter, became the first lieutenant governor of the Pacific Northwest region and attended a symposium. His first job out of college was with the Junior Statemen Foundation — where he held a wide variety of roles including PNW and New Jersey program manager, national program director, director of Georgetown and founder of the Yale Summer School.
Always a geek, he has spent a lot of his time helping JSA adopt new technology — and is very passionate about the great work happening at the foundation.
