Israel “Izzy” Klein is a Managing Partner at Roberti Global: Irizarry-Klein-Roberti, a government relations and public policy practice firm. He spearheads government relations and media outreach efforts for a host of global financial services, technology, telecommunications and energy clients.
Prior to joining Roberti Global, Izzy was a Principal at Podesta Group, a leading DC public affairs firm, where he led a coalition of small startup technology companies during the consideration of the Dodd Frank Act; quarterbacked a comprehensive legislative effort to pass the JOBS Act in 2012; and was a go-to resource for organizations with complex political and high profile policy challenges. He has been a senior communications strategist and policy adviser for leading members of the US Senate and House, including Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA). Izzy was the Deputy Staff Director for Communications for the Joint Economic Committee (JEC), chaired by Senator Schumer. The New York Times, Politico, Bloomberg News, and the Boston Globe, among others, have sought Izzy’s political and policy expertise on the record.
A native of West Orange, New Jersey, Izzy co-founded and was the President of West Orange High School’s JSA chapter (1995). He attended JSA’s Montezuma Leadership Conference, was a regional and state cabinet member and attended Georgetown Summer School, where he was elected Salutatorian.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. He is a partner with the Truman National Security Project, and mentors scores of young people interested in public service and politics.
Izzy lives with his wife Sarah and their twins, Abraham and Stella, in Chevy Chase, MD.
