As a superior court judge, Beth Freeman has served California’s San Mateo County since 2001, handling family law, law and motion and general trial assignments. Freeman is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of California at Berkeley and was admitted to the Washington, D.C. Bar in 1979 and the California Bar in 1981.
Freeman served as an associate at the Washington law firm Fried Frank Harris Shriver and Kampelman and as an associate at the San Francisco law firm Lasky Haas, Cohler and Munter. She was a deputy county counsel in San Mateo from 1983-2000.

Freeman attended Ravenswood High School in East Palo Alto, Calif., and was a member of the Junior State chapter there.
