Chris Kelly

The former chief privacy officer of Facebook of Palo Alto, Calif., in 2010 Kelly ran for Attorney General of California; he placed third, garnering 15½ percent of the votes in the Democratic primary. Today, he is an entrepreneur based in Palo Alto.

Kelly grew up in Santa Ana and San Jose and attended Georgetown University (where he received his undergraduate degree), Yale Univeristiy (where he received a master’s degree) and Harvard University (where he received his law degree). He also served as a clerk in the U.S. District Court in San Diego.

A policy advisor in the Clinton White House, Kelly worked on the formation of AmeriCorps, a network of national service programs that engage Americans in community service for education, public safety, health and the environment. Kelly also serves on the board of directors of the San Francisco 49ers Academy, a public middle school in East Palo Alto.
